LORAL CYBERSTAR REACHES AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE
CONTINUED SERVICE TO INTELLICOM CUSTOMERS

ROCKVILLE, MD - May 21, 2002 - Loral CyberStar today announced that it has reached a commercial agreement with Intellicom, a wholly owned subsidiary of SoftNet (NASDAQ: SOFN), to provide CyberStar's WorldCast Internet access service to Intellicom's former customers. Intellicom, which ceased operations in April 2002, had previously offered its customers Internet access using very small aperture terminal (VSAT) technology. Loral CyberStar is a subsidiary of Loral Space & Communications (NYSE: LOR).

Intellicom's customers have been successfully transitioned to CyberStar's network, and have begun using CyberStar's WorldCast suite of products that provide Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and carriers with high-speed access to Internet sites across the U.S.

"CyberStar's capabilities and stability offered Intellicom customers the best alternative to their current service. CyberStar has been delivering data using VSATs for more than a decade and was the first company to offer Internet backbone connectivity via satellite," said Neil Bauer, president, CyberStar. "We will not only continue to provide comparable services to Intellicom's former customer base, but will also offer them an expanded range of services."

Intellicom's former customers are based primarily in Central and Latin America and in the Caribbean and range from educational institutions to ISPs to third-party resellers and distributors.

CyberStar's WorldCast Internet service provides cost-effective, high-performance connectivity to enterprises needing fast and reliable Internet access. Its single-hop satellite technology avoids the quality problems and unpredictable performance introduced by the many routers and network transfers necessary for terrestrial systems and its multicast capabilities allow cost-efficient distribution to multiple points of presence.

Using CyberStar's well-established backbone connectivity infrastructure, WorldCast offers a number of services including point-to-point and point-to-multipoint connections, a range of speeds from 64 Kbps to 45Mbps, symmetric or asymmetric satellite links and the flexibility of configuring the network as satellite only or as a combination of satellite and terrestrial links. WorldCast gives Internet service providers an instant infrastructure to efficiently deliver streaming media, video-to-the desktop and large-data files.
